The workshop was attended by 25 participants from 15 different countries with different backgrounds and skills. The different views on how to teach interactive storytelling and how interactive storytelling could be used for learning made the discussions very interesting.
The workshop provided a broad overview on the existing training programs
for teaching interactive storytelling, various possibilities for tools that
could be used for creating non-linear stories, theories on how to develop
a non-linear story and different story structures and case studies of the
best interactive storytelling projects.
During the hands on workshop participants developed and presented 4 different
curricula for teaching interactive storytelling. The first VocINet workshop
shows that there is a big need for sharing information and experiences on
how to teach interactive storytelling and how interactive storytelling could
be used for learning.
The aim of VocINet is to provide such a platform for sharing experiences
by publishing on information on training programs, trainers and tools and
organising professionals training workshops.
There were many interesting discussion on how to teach interactive storytelling,
how to bring together the technology aspects and the creative ideas, how
to use e-learning tools could, how to teach interactive storytelling for
BA courses, how to develop courses for using interactive storytelling in
museums, how interactive storytelling could be used for learning, how to
collaborate to develop didactic materials, how to share information and
experiences with teaching interactive storytelling and how to finance trainings
in interactive storytelling.
